Can't wait to get out!

Pros

If you're cut throat, willing to throw your grandmother under a bus to get ahead, this place can make you a lot of money. Be prepared to fight your teammates for every dollar - because they'll try to take it from you. RHI underpays, so employees have to play dirty to make a decent paycheck. They fly you out of state for your training. Free vacation, to the most unappealing place in your quadrant of the country!

Cons

Doing a good job is never as important as the numbers you hit. You could be giving your clients sub-par product (staff), but if you hit your targets, it doesn't matter. You're trained to be pushy, then when clients complain the management team tells you that you lack people skills. This company loves meetings. They have morning meetings, afternoon meetings, end of day meetings, month end meetings, quarter end meetings, year end meetings, end of week meetings. If you want to get your work done, you have to set time aside (usually after working hours) to get it done. Your work hours are spent talking about how you should be improving your productivity (can you say irony?).

Think Twice

Pros

Excellent training practices. For people new to recruiting this is an excellent place to learn the trade. Nice offices. For the most part they have A class spaces in major metro locations. Some really good people work at RHI. Good sales tools. Very open to providing the latest and best in technology tools to make more money. Good brand name recognition. People in finance and accounting especially know who RHI is.

Cons

Over-all theme is that they do not see the value in their people - unless they are senior management. Plug and play mentality (if someone leaves, just plug another person into the formula). Leadership training is nonexistent. The field managers manage by fear and stress brought on by upper management 1% of the people make 90% of the money. Execs and Senior management are paid very well. The rest of the employees have weak comp plans that DO NOT compete with their competitors No work/life balance - nor any flexibility - for example new moms on mat leave feel intense pressure to come back to work early from their managers Big time favoritism. Many managers have jobs they should not be in - nor are they qualified to do. If you are the "list," you are protected and taken care of forever. If not, you better find a way to get on it. Preach ethics first, but execs and senior management do not practice it behind closed doors nor at company events

Pros

There are definitely salespeople and recruiters at Robert Half that are making WONDERFUL money and there are some genuinely fun and intelligent people that work there, but they are few and far between.

Cons

RHI operates on the antiquated model of "work harder and longer, not smarter" and allows zero deviation from their processes and procedures. They place zero value on their employees and even less on their input. RHI doesn't want intelligent salespeople, they want employees who will fall in line and get with their program, period. It is certainly not an enjoyable or rewarding place to spend 10 hours of your day, everyday.
