Pros

Employees are polite and helpful, great equipment

Cons

A warning regarding Roehl. The promised me 2,500+ miles, or $1,000per week. After four months I hadn't hit that mark and asked Jeff M, my fleet manager, why I wasn't hitting that mark. He said that they didn't apply to new drivers. I told him I couldn't pay my bills making what I was and would have to leave. He told me when I signed my new hire paperwork there was a clause stating unless I drove 75,000 miles for Roehl they would bill me $3,130 for the training they provided. Note: at the rate they were dispatching me it would have taken me a total of 15 months to reach that mark. I left and they did send me a bill. I appealed, which they told me was my right, stating that they didn't keep they're part of the bargain. Their reply was to turn my account over to a collection agency and now the charge was $3,950. That's my story. After this I called the office in Marshfield, WI, and asked what the turnover rate was for drivers. I was told 99% in 2015 and 104% in 2016! Obviously I should have done this first. They're probably making more money on "training fees" than on delivery freight. Before you decide ask them for turnover rates. Ask about the 75,000 miles clause. And ask them how many miles per week or income you can expect per week, and get that in writing. Update: just heard that they've changed they're requirements to 150,000 miles or $5,000 in training fees ($6,200 if you can't write a check for that amount). If they're a good company why the retribution?

Pros

none that I can think of.

Cons

$300 a week paychecks for being out 11-14 days. Micromanagement Not being paid to hand unload This company and their GYCDL program is a total scam. They will promise you $42,000 first year and you will only see $300 a week paychecks. You will get a lot of 150 to 300 mile short runs where you will wait to be live unloaded and loaded. You only get paid if the truck is rolling, 2-5 hours at the dock of your time is free.)

Pros

I came to this company with no experience and went through the GYCDL program out of Phoenix Terminal. Upon successful completion I went home and sat about 4 days until assigned to my trainer. Did about 14 Otr training days and then tested out to be on my own. Their program trained me well and I didn't feel as if they just passed me to get me out there. I felt I earn it by working hard. I met my fm in person upon getting to marshfield. I felt like an asset after that meeting. I run hard meaning I stay out at a minimum of 6 weeks to 8 weeks by choice. My fm keeps my wheels turning, treats me with respect, and even supports some decisions I make under certain circumstances. I've never had a bad contact with my fm and he is my asset. We make a good team. As far as the company it's really good. Work hard, rewards come your way, have a bad attitude I'm sure you will get the same. I've only had one bad contact with a mechanic and it was settled right there between us, but outside of that it has always been positive. My pay is good, my miles are good but I certainly would take more too. Roehl is big on safety, and yes there are things people say about Roehl being too controlling. Well look at the company as a whole, their equipment, employees ect. I take pride in my job and I want to represent myself as well as my company professionally. Currently since March I'm at about 40,000 miles. My pay is averaging just over 1000.00 a week. I have benefits, brand new truck, great fm, great company all around. Come to Roehl, it will be a great choice.

Cons

I've yet to really find any that stands out to be a true con. Some people will put anything down, but for me it has to be something important to the job.
