Pros

The absolute best type of environment. Regardless of the level of your role, your opinion matters and will be considered. It's a start-up and in that fashion is always trying new things and doing that quickly. Mistakes are accepted, successes are well-celebrated, and ideas are always welcome. Unlike many start-ups, leadership here has an exceptionally large wealth of experience. I found myself learning lessons from the top-tier of thinkers in the real estate industry I knew I couldn't find anywhere else. The team is a community. Despite growing rather substantially in employee count, everyone knows everyone else's name, their role, and a little something about them. Birthday singing, happy hours, and kitchen chats are only a few avenues that bring everyone together. It's Roofstock's dedication to picking awesome people who are thoughtful, engaged, and caring that ultimately makes the team an amazing community. Work/Life Balance is a real thing. A lot of companies say they care about this, but Roofstock actually backs it up with policies and benefits. I was very sad to leave Roofstock largely because I knew how difficult it would be to ever replicate the team, the leadership, and the environment. I can't give higher praise to the company for my experience.

Cons

It is very fast-paced, direction can change quickly, and improvement is a constant goal. This is more of a con against start-ups in general. If you're not looking to learn and be challenged, it may not be the right fit for you. Also there were only two office dogs named Bode. We could have used at least one more.

Great startup with a lot of potential!

Pros

Seasoned management (not some kiddy startup) with strong leadership skills, collaborative team mates, positive, no BS environment - people are here to make a great company and not play politics, great work life balance for a startup (see strong leadership skills), plenty of funding and strong revenue growth for such a young startup. And I've been at a lot of startups - this is my sixth one, and by far the best. It has critical mass in terms of the right people to take the company to the next level.

Cons

Company is in growth mode, and is learning how to scale. We're currently putting scalable processes and tech in place. We're also outgrowing our current office space and need to move soon.
