Pros

Its a good part time job or a job to get if you dont need much money. And there is always opportunity to work overtime if you need more hours.

Cons

The managers dont respect employees they treat you like the job is your life and nothin else should matter to you.

Pros

Employees turn into a second family and show support and encouragement due to the absence of manager support.

Cons

I cannot speak for other Ross Stores but my manager makes it dreadful to go to work, his moods change rapidly and you never know when he will lash out and attempt to hurt your feelings for any given reason.

Pros

The 20% discount every associate receives is one of the only two positives I've found with working at Ross. The other is having some halfway decent coworkers.

Cons

The place is just like high school all over again. Management is incompetent, arrogant, and overly demanding. They micromanage like you wouldn't believe. I am receiving anywhere from 4 to 12 hours a week, despite my only availability restriction being that I cannot work past 10:20pm due to bus schedules. After informing management that I was interested in the stock lead position, they placed someone who hadn't even been in the stock room as the new lead. They have no concept of their associates having a home life outside of the store and have even told other associates "Don't make plans for after you get off, because we might need you to stay." If you're asked to stay late or come in on your day off and you're unable to, they retaliate and take away your hours. This past week, I had ten hours. Next week, I have eight. How is this a living wage?
