Pros

- There's a lot of good people that you'll see every day. - I had a phenomenal Operations Manager who gave me opportunities to grow. They were the reason I stuck it out for 2 years.

Cons

- Salary - I got a 1.7% pay increase for two years in a row even though Ross showed records profits for 2023, and I had a high performance. - Slow - Everything is old, the mindset of management is old, and everyone is afraid or just doesn't want to rock the boat, so there is no growth, This place is polar opposite to somewhere like Amazon. - Politics - If you are a nail sticking up, you will get hammered down. DEI - Everywhere you turn, there is some DEI thing shoved in your face. If you're into that, then this is the place for you.

Used to be a good job

Pros

Used to be flexible. Like the people I work with!

Cons

Stuck in the past, do not listen to their employees. About to lose some great people based on decisions upper management is making. They lied to new hires saying they only needed to come in 2 days a week but then went back on their word 2 weeks later and are making everyone go in on Monday when they promised Mondays and Fridays would always be remote. Aren’t promoting people that should be promoted based on the company not doing well. The office is also so old and outdated, if you are going to make everyone come in more at least update the office.

Pros

The discounts employees get are very nice, especially it opens the door for associates to get things they won't be able to afford otherwise.

Cons

Doesn't pay much above minimum wage. Especially for loss prevention. In locations with a lot of theft with potentially dangerous customers (I have personally dealt with a customer we had to kick out of the store because he threatened to stab another customer) working for 50 cents above minimum wage is insulting. My particular location was always understaffed but had employees who were scheduled for one four hour shift a week. Many employees had two or more jobs for that reason. Now after lowering the working age to 16, there is a significant about of minor employees who are under trained and unavailable for most of the day. During the holidays locations are open until 2 am, with little to no customer traffic that did not result in theft. There is honestly no reason why a Ross should be open until even 10PM (normal hours) much less 2 am
