Pros

Good culture internally, it seems they're genuinely dedicated to a good product and to each other.

Cons

Privately owned currently, so corporate decisions do leak in -- currently in full swing with an AI adoption, so while the average employee (especially engineering) is wary that their job security is in serious question esp. as the private company's sale date comes up, we all have to play along and pretend like AI is making us faster. Management is at least fairly receptive to feedback about frictions, and culture is shifting adoption to more of a "where does it actually help" question -- better, but interest from on-high is still more eager than not.

Pros

Good work-life balance, collaborative engineering culture, dogs, two-sided marketplace is an interesting product to work on, forward-thinking about AI tools.

Cons

As the overwhelming market leader in the space (RIP Wag!), there is maybe some complacency.

Pros

The work life balance isn't bad, although it has gotten worse recently. There is good engineering talent here to work with despite a poor engineering culture.

Cons

It's a culture of visibility more than a culture of achievement. The pay structure is also really bad now after the acquisition, which I would imagine is intentional. So as people's initial grants run out they leave.
