Pros

The employees are great and there union the icepaz fights tooth and nail for the members.

Cons

The managment and company could care less about there employees. They will go to great lengths to screw there employees every chance they get. They pay us 2.00 an hr less than they pay there sister company employees, that does the same exact job as we do. They make us pay to have our recerts done when they pay for there sister company ( southwest ambulance) employees recerts. They will sit down in a union negotiation and tell you we want to do the right thing and we feel confident we will have a contract with u in 90 days then tell u to stick it up ur ass cause we wont give them everything they want. Rural metro and PMT managment is a joke they preech to us to do the right thing when all they do is the wrong thing. Go to work for mcdonalds you will make more money and will not have to pay for schooling and recerts every two years not to mention you wont risk your health or life on a daily basis.

Pros

You have a lot of responsibilities and a great resume builder for skills.

Cons

Not enough full time employees, the company runs from the top down with not enough bodies to fill positions. The company continues to not fill positions and consolidate positions rather than hire additional staff to ease the work load of current employees. Employee retention is horrible, there anti-labor stance shows with every step they take to minimize salaries for middle management and fill the pockets of senior management.

Pros

I get to work part time while attending school. Working with RN's has helped me see the bigger picture of working in the ICU and Cath Labs

Cons

Even working pat-time, they want you to be available three days a week. They may or may not schedule you to work these day, almost like being on standby but not getting paid at all for it.
