A once great company

Pros

Nice co-workers to work with.

Cons

Weak management focused on neither the customer or employees. Once a good company to work for now seems mainly focused on taking from employees.

Pros

Not much to say that is good at Ryerson, don't expect much if you work here. Pay and benefits are getting worse.

Cons

Old fashion men's club. Managers only look out for themselves. Not much room to move up. No flexibility, stay at your seat. Nobody is willing to change. Every department is for themselves. No collaboration. Expect upper management to be rude and passive aggressive. Ryerson academy is a waste of company money, nobody learns anything.

Do Not Work Here

Pros

Some great characters in the office, along with a relaxed atmosphere. You won't find it hard to make friends at work. Company is genuinely evolving for the better, with soon to be 2 Customer Service Centers (Minneapolis & Dallas).

Cons

It takes a lot for the Inside Sales Manager to interact with his employees; don't expect to have much interaction with management at all. On the company spectrum, the business strategy is not being followed as a team; each district office operates the way it wants, without considering the other offices.
