Pros

There are no positive aspects to working for SAS Shoemakers.

Cons

SAS Shoemakers does not care about the life-safety of its workers. Moreover, SAS Shoemakers operates a factory in Acuna, Mexico, while touting its brand as being American-made. Work for SAS Shoemakers if you are a dishonest person who doesn't mind working in a store with blocked fire exits.

Thank you for your feedback. SAS takes seriously the safety of all workers and immediately investigates any and all safety issues or concerns. SAS would not put any employee in harm's way and prides itself on a safe work environment. Second, SAS operates two factories in the US - one in San Antonio, Texas and one in Del Rio, Texas. Right across the border from our factory in Del Rio, we have a sister plant in Acuna, Mexico that does perform certain operations (like hand sewing and stitching) on some of our styles, not all. The production there is limited and we acknowledge Acuna and its role in our operations on our website: SASshoes.com/Made in the USA/handcrafted.

Pros

The company is great to work for, they show they care by compensating for Christmas and summer bonuses because the factory shuts down for a few days. It's a fun environment depending on your co-workers

Cons

Management sucks, especially since the store I worked for doesn't have a manager and DM is suppose to take on role, but pushes employees in store to fulfill management roles and responsibilities without being compensated for the work. Higher ups in company email asking employees to do work and be responsible for tasks the company employees should be responsible for

Regarding your advice to management, we will make sure the leadership team is aware of your concerns so we can look for ways to address these concerns and enhance the store level operations.

Thank you for taking a moment to share your personal experience while working at SAS. We feel fortunate to be able to reward our employees, even in a tough business climate, with incentives like the bonuses you mentioned. We appreciate you recognizing the effort that goes into making this a possibility. We are excited about the rapid re-growth of our company and we understand this may bring challenges to our personnel. During this time of transition, we are looking to our employees for their expertise, loyalty and dedication to help bring our company to the next level. The future of our company relies on many factors, teamwork being one of the most vital. Whether it is a seasoned employee or a newcomer, we are grateful any time an employee cares enough to go above and beyond the call of duty to share in our vision of high-quality shoes and service to all SAS customers.
