      Thank you for your comments. You make some very important points, particularly about how important it is to have strong leaders in order to have real employee satisfaction and engagement. Your concerns about opportunities for advancement, pay and benefits were all echoed in our employee survey last year and we have taken steps to improve in those areas, including the recent announcement of a company-wide bonus plan to be implemented in early 2016, depending on 2015 performance. Such a plan will also encourage the "it's everyone's job" mentality that you suggest, because every employee has the opportunity to share in the company's success.       Pros

      Vacation time is great- Salary structure is very competitive for the market. Enough good people are still interested in working here to allow for great colleagues to work with on a daily basis

      Cons

      Upper Management is NOT making smart or ethical decisions. They are listening to VERY POOR Middle managers who have their own, often negative- even sneaky agendas. BUT, I find it very interesting that Management- and HR have obviously found out about Glassdoor.com and all of the negative (true) comments on here...and they are clearly trying to compensate for that by adding their own positive (and misleading) reviews so that the "score" doesn't look so bad.

      Pros

      I was at Schumacher group for 4 years. in my opinion its one of the greatest medical billing companies to work for in Lafayette. During this I learned a lot about the health care system and grew as an employee.

      Cons

      Many departments are focused on the wrong aspects of having a productive efficient business. Employees are just a number now, patients are just a dollar amount. The once belief of "Patients First" no longer rings true...it's all about bottom line. Employees lack motivation and security due to recent layoffs and many who used to go above and beyond lack the drive due to overwhelming lack of trained professionals hired in all aspects, top to bottom. The saying "you get what you pay for" rings true.
