Pros

- The work matters. Knowing we are on the front lines of making workplaces for all employees better is a fascinating and cool place to be. - The people and culture are strong and fun to work with. I have a great time coming to work. - Smart, transparent leadership. The executive team is thoughtful, intelligent, and really cares about the staff. - Excellent Benefits. Healthcare, open leave, pension, 401k, tuition remission, student loan support, etc. etc. - Hybrid work schedule: T-Th in office, with M/F remote, which allows you to catch flights, book doctor, walk kids to school, and much more

Cons

- Hardworking. SHRM moves fast and does not function at the speed of other non-profits. - Being the trusted source for all things work, means a lot of responsibility. So there is not much down time and workplaces/employees are counting on us to get it right.

Pros

I now know what I will no longer tolerate in the workplace.

Cons

Even in this terrible economy and job market an 80K salary is not worth the amount of unnecessary stress you will deal with. Everything is an emergency, everything is the most important thing ever, and there's constantly 20 (stupid poorly planned) projects going on at once. You talk to anyone else who works in social they will look at you like you're crazy when you share the amount of posts that go out every week. Not worth the money, not worth the stress, and not worth the dealing with the incompetent leadership. Google "SHRM Business Insider" to read up on the culture of that company.
