Pros

The salary to get you in the door. That's where the Pros end.

Cons

You'll hear one thing in the interview and another when you start. That's the beginning of the management deceptions. Then comes the bullying and the shaft. They'll promise you work for a period of time and once you finished your portion of the project with client sign-off, you're out the door shorter then the period of Full-Time employment promised upon hire. When they do not get payed by their Prime, they use you as the pawn to get payment, work stoppage and non-requested, forced paid leave, till they get their check and your leave is used up. Then it's back to catch up on missed days and still meet the deadlines. Zero professional development or advancement. Evaluations are looked upon as a burden and not an opportunity to align excellence in performance. This shows how management is all about them and not the organization and client. The only long term employment here is for executive staff and nothing below unless you can bring in contracts through your contacts. It's not about ability or performance.

Thanks for your review. As a hiring manager, I can tell you that we care very much about ability and performance. I'm sorry that your personal experience wasn't a positive one; I know in government contracting sometimes contracts can take longer to be awarded than we'd like and certainly contracts can be cancelled, but I know that in a lot of those cases Solute has carried people on overhead budgets rather than let them go as we value our employees. Coming from a larger defense contractor myself, I can tell you that is a very rare sacrifice for a company to make these days.

Pros

They seem friendly at first...

Cons

It's obvious that senior management does not value the employees of the company. You are there to make them money. Don't expect them to provide any type of mentoring or career development, they just don't care about that.

Being in senior management myself, I can tell you that I take a personal interest in every one of my employees and do everything I can to help them succeed in their careers (whether that be at Solute or another company). If you're an applicant considering applying for a job in my business unit (Advanced Concepts) and you'd like to ask any of my employees if they feel differently I'd be happy to provide their contact information so you may ask them yourself! I do wish you would have left some advice though, we can always improve. We're here and we're listening.
