Pros

The people were very nice, flexible schedule.

Cons

Where to begin- I was so financially screwed over I was basically making minimum wage. I accrued a ton of credit card debt and could barely afford my mortgage and bills. Their pay offer was misleading and I felt lied to and betrayed. I am out now and couldn’t be happier.

Pros

Many of the providers I work with are wonderful people that really care about what they do - unfortunately they are all burnt out.

Cons

Upper management doesn't care, at all. Many policies in place make me feel like a salesperson - as a patient in mental health for 30 years, I've NEVER had the constant harassment from my providers organizations that Nystrom has us do. When I got this job, my therapist warned me about Nystrom's reputation amongst mental health professionals - she couldn't have been more accurate. Admin staff is burnt out. As of when I wrote this, Nystrom has 24 admin positions open, and that will continue to grow. Turnover says all you need to know! My boss is leaving, and lately has been filling in for another manager at another location that had a full melt down and is on FMLA now. I'm about to finish school and am starting my internships - I've learned my lesson. Thankfully I'll be gone in a few weeks.

Lack of appreciation

Pros

Many opportunities for training, some wonderful colleagues.

Cons

Rigid management, zero acknowledgment for hard work/dedication other than a literal paperweight at 5 years service. Providers worked packed schedules over the pandemic with nothing from management despite being a mental health company and making higher profits. Rules are rigid and management tells lies such as telehealth going away (forced return to office) and that their compensation is comparable to others despite being a significantly lower percentage than most clinics (news flash, it isn’t true). It felt like years of gaslighting, it’s no wonder their reputation in the mental health community is subpar.
