Pros
Good pay for the area, some career growth opportunity IF you get in with the right people
Cons
Many members of IT leadership here are more concerned with furthering their careers than anything else. Nepotism is rampant, so political and friend connections take precedence over qualifications and team fit. In addition, there is very little (read: no) accountability for getting work done, or the quality of said work. This has created an environment where many things do not work, and the few qualified, productive employees are left to clean up the mess. Surprisingly for a hospital, ethics often take the back seat, with members of leadership willing to back each other up in unethical situations, leaving staff with no recourse without fear of retaliation.
