They own you and let you know it. When corporate says drop the payroll cost, all part timers drop down below 24 hours and they don't care what bills they can't pay. You can only get 1 pay raise per year at your review. It will be .20 to .50 only. The more you do for the club only increases what they expect of you not what they pay you. If you are the hardest worker in the building, it just means you work harder than the smart ones. Never missing a day, taking days off, or calling out sick doesn't matter. Nothing you do can get you more of anything except the offer to move into a different position that will work you more and you will make .30-.50 more per hour. Somehow they think a $12 a week increase will change your life.

Hours. Managers are 50+ with no rhyme or reason. It is just because it's retail and it's always been that way. If it's slow, send your managers home so they can have a life. We don't need 4 managers at a time when it's slow. Most of them are playing games on their phones. I know this, because I am a manager and have seen them at various stores. You are just a number here. The recent restructure terminated managers that had been there 15+ years. Communication is poor. Salary is VERY poor. Work is boring. They don't believe in mentoring and coaching employees. Coaching to them means writing an employee up. Promotion will be slow. Most Assistants have been in role over 10 years.
