Pros
There is not much but I would have to say the medical benefits and the employee discount on products.
Cons
Starting at the top. The Korean presidents they send over are incompetent or unable to get along with American executives, managers, and employees. There's a corporate culture where you either have to be with the Koreans which is difficult to do if you're not Korean or you're with the American senior management. There is no sense of teamwork within the company and it feels like there is always big brother watching over you. Some of the software they install on your PC are junk especially the proprietary ones. It's a good thing Samsung isn't a software company or else they'd be out of business. The HR department is a complete joke. They are useless and have done nothing to improve employee morale. I've never been with a company with so many employees that are so miserable. What's the point of conducting a Great Workplace survey every year if nothing ever changes. Because of an inept HR department the turnover rate at Samsung is very high. There are very few non-Koreans that have been with the company for at least 10 years. Samsung doesn't value the individual employee. It's all about the company first. Don't count on being able to take vacations because they make it seem like you're doing something wrong when you request it and some Koreans expect you to take your phone and laptop with you on vacation.
