Pros

They'll pay you well while they drain the life out of you. Non executive employees are hard working, respectful people. Great health benefits, superior 401k match.

Cons

Don't expect a work life balance. When you need to go on vacation you'll be asked to take your mobile phone and computer with you. Or even strongly suggest you should cancel your vacation even though the company policy provides for abundant PTO. The only time executives care about work/life balance is 2 weeks before the annual employee survey and 2 weeks after the poor results are provided 6 months later.

Thank you for your review. We understand that in our fast-paced, results-oriented culture, work-life balance can sometimes be overlooked due to pressing business needs. To help neutralize this, we began implementing Flex Programs over the past few years to provide our employees with the flexibility needed to be able to maintain both their personal and professional obligations. Although I see you are no longer with the company at this time, we are working hard to encourage that all employees take advantage of these initiatives to ensure they are able to maintain work-life balance and return to work feeling refreshed. Thank you again for your feedback as we continue to search for ways to improve our organization.

Pros

Excellent benefits (SEA Only) & decent pay

Cons

Horrible work life balance. Never a set schedule and punished for taking PTO by having to make up days missed once you return. Field sales managers feel like retail employees based on leadership directives, which constantly change by the week. None of which helps with our never ending schedule changes mid cadence which ruins our executive presence in-store. no one really gets reimbursed for mileage so in turn, our car's need heavy maintenance for only about $5-$10 back in return a week for gas. I could go on but all in all, I'm still with the company (for now) so until a better opportunity that's financially rewarding with good enough benefits presents itself, I will reluctantly remain an FSM.

Pros

Visiting stores creating partnerships Friendships made with coworkers

Cons

First Samsung restructured its FSM program at the end of 2018, so you work directly for Samsung. While that may sound intriguing, it isn’t! Samsung Electronics America (mobile operation) is based in the US. However, the Koreans have no work-life balance so you don’t either! Trying to keep up with Korean mandates or impress them through your work ethic is like working in a pressure cooker! As a result, FSMs feel like they have no job security. Micro Management is rampant. You are GEO tracked constantly, ride alongs with your RM, fire drills, emails, text messages, and a 24/7 work ethic is expected. -Hiring process (beware) for Samsung has an untold truth /by omission. You get 2 weeks PTO. Truth … Vacation/PTO days are blacked most of the time! And you work all holidays, Thanksgiving and Christmas! Also, you’re punished for taking PTO (if not vacation time)! IE if you take a sick day or have a personal business your RM will state you have to make up your instore hours! Which requires you to schedule 12 hrs work days or work on a Sunday. Furthermore, drive time is not considered part of your hours worked, it's just expected. Most days you have at least 2hrs of drive time if not more. -Mileage reimbursement. Truth… you don’t get paid drive time from your home to your first visit or from your last visit to home. Which is the bulk of your driving /gas used! So you end up paying (in essence Samsung) for the majority of your gas used! -M-F work week doesn’t exist! Working for Samsung directly might sound like a great job. But with constant upper management changes. Creating redirection and no traffic management all the while trying to impress the Koreans. The FSM role is questionable at best.
