      Pros

      • Has the good parts of a startup • Compensation packages are relatively good

      Cons

      • Has the bad parts of a startup. • Has the bad parts of a big corporate. • Painfully outdated systems. • Absolutely no direction. • Urge to keep people busy even when there is no real plan. • You never know who makes the decisions. • People just desperately work for their bonus. • Number 1 priority of everything you do is to be an ad to sell more hardware. After that it may become something else but most likely it won't.

      The Most Exciting Organization in Samsung

      Pros

      -Feeling of a startup within a larger corporation -Constantly learning on your feet, learning about the latest trends in the world and building the future -Helping entrepreneurs, innovators and internal teams build incredible products -Teaches you how to navigate bureaucracy and big org charts but not hindered by it day-to-day -Definitely lots of challenges when trying to build new products / work with integrating M&A'd products and teams but these are all opportunities if you are an optimist and can thrive in ambiguity

      Cons

      -Recent turnover has hurt morale but wrong fits / hires are being phased out -Difficult to move ideas 'up the Samsung chain' & have projects adopted at the HQ Korea level -Difficult-to-achieve OKRs - should we care more about revenue or growth metrics? Pick 1 -Culture of 'its awesome because its awesome' surrounding products - would prefer a more critical eye when the data is staring us in the eyes <-- use this data to kill obviously dead features and projects and move on quickly -Management needs to include more women, diverse opinions when hiring and interviewing candidates - all-male panels are not a good look

      Challenging, Competitiveness Yet Friendly

      Pros

      At Samsung Next you find yourself thinking outside of the box. Finding ways to break down barriers. You are surrounded by intellectuals who are competitive and who strive to disrupt the corporate norm. However, the colleagues make the culture of the office inviting. One of the best places that I have worked at due to the work and due to your colleagues.

      Cons

      Would like for the company to instill unlimited PTO. It's becoming more of a norm for companies.
