Pros

Pro- the people who are genuine are truly nice. A handful of managers try to make a difference. Good medical benefits, clothing discounts, remote work, onsite cafe.

Cons

If this is your preferred working environment then SanMar is the place for you. Some people have worked their whole career here and couldn’t get another job so they feel threatened and perpetuate the office politics, discriminatory hiring, firing, and promotions, and support the concept of nepotism all over the company. The amount of backstabbing, boot licking and lying that goes on here is unbelievable. Those in power to change the culture only perpetuate this because they knowingly allow AND REWARD this. People are nice but the so many are fake. There is a lot of competition between people and many play unfair. No one talks about it because many want to pretend it does not exist because everyone is so “nice”. I complained to my manager several times about racist undertones but when you have no managers and few foreigners or minorities in the company they say you must have interpreted whatever happened wrong. BS. Glad I left there. I have been at my new company for several months and urge others to get out!!! Game of Thrones…The Hunger Games….SanMar….so much in common.

Pros

Love this company! Marty really cares about the happiness of his employees. Decisions are made in the best interest of employees/customers, not shareholders. It is such a positive environment. Excellent training.

Cons

Working from home can be a challenge communicating w/ team members. Billing system/order pulling systems cause big headaches sometimes.

Pros

Relaxed atmosphere, you can wear what ever you want to. Nice people to work with. Lots of overtime hours available. They do lunches and stuff sometimes.

Cons

Poor pay and raises. Most people get something like 2 %. When you only make $11 an hour, what is another 22 cents???? Management does not care about the people who do the actual work. They sit around and do nothing while you run around and work. It is hard to advance. It seems like the supervisors pick their favorite people to advance.
