I don't know much about the other departments as inter-departmental communication is discouraged and seen as unproductive. I can only speak for the IT Department.
The IT Director(now CIO) threatened to fire me four times for illogical reasons. One was during a time where me and my coworkers had created a schedule we all agreed on but the IT Director changed it to something incompatible with everyone's schedule(5 People work a first, second, and third shift each week). Two threats were to the entire technical support department during two different weekly work meetings. These threats were intended to motivate, instead everyone who was present for those threats has since left the company.
Hours here are cut as punishment for not doing favors for management.
Technical support is the catch all department despite the job description. Throughout my time here we did additional projects that had a dedicated department that could have handled it. We did projects related to Content Development, Programming, Recruiting, and Shipping. If we did these jobs incorrectly we received some form of punishment.
The CIO has repetitively requested that employees copy over copy written material so that he could use it for development ideas of his own.
Savant's IT Department truly doesn't deserve the talented people employed that are keeping it afloat. It's a business looking to make money off of students and they do not care how or who they have to oppress to get it done. All the goals are oriented to how much money the company can make off of it with very little retrospect on what they have done wrong. In addition to that, they also care very little for what their employees have to say.
