Pros

- Great exposure to accomplished people who are generous with their time and who you can learn from. You'll encounter many disciplines working at Science - software eng, bio, neuro, hardware eng, electric eng, machinist, govt, legal, clinical, medical, etc...If you enjoy cross-functional colab and aren't afraid to put yourself out there, this is a plus. - Fascinating projects to have the opportunity to work on, and a lot of them. This can be a double-edged sword. You've got to be flexible here and work with what you have. Lots of research areas means resources for each are more spread out. Nonetheless, Science is on the cutting-edge of BCI. - The company and CEO have big goals. I find this to be a plus. It feels effortless to show up to work excited about what you're contributing to. - I've had 95% positive interactions with coworkers. People are down to earth and the office vibes are good. The headcount is growing rapidly so there are new faces every week. The culture is continuing to develop.

Cons

- The scope of your work can be ambiguous. This isn't uncommon for a startup where a lot is asked of you, but be prepared to drive your own work and know what to prioritize. - Coming from a small startup, I think the benefits here are nice: catered food, good office location, some biz travel; but if you're coming from a larger company you might be disappointed by the comp and accompanying benefits. No offsites or dedicated resources/time for team building. - The company operates like a startup in many ways. And it is one in terms of age, but with their ambitions and the funding they've acquired, I think the company could act more like a corporation by investing in the people they already have.

Pros

-Taking on probably the best application of the 21st century: brain computer interfaces (BCIs): -Understand, mitigate and cure debilitating central / peripheral nervous system diseases / disorders -Accelerate understanding of who we are as humans (in part helped by Science's SciFi ecosystem for neuroscientists (not just another med device company)) -Ensure a bright future for humanity / biological intelligence (e.g. improve memory/processing; accelerate learning rate, etc.) -Already completed clinical trials; on the verge of selling life changing vision prosthesis device in Europe (PRIMA) (this is just the begining). -Virtually unlimited skill growth ceiling (breadth of knowledge required across IC Design/RF/EE/CS/ME/CE/Material Science/Neuroscience is vast). -Not afraid to challenge the status quo. -Modern internal company tooling (HR/Ops/lab information management software, in-house microfab, advanced electronics assembly, test inspection, etc). -Incredibly kind and cracked coworkers. -Expectation is to go above and beyond ("mistakes are expected, but make them new and interesting").

Cons

-As is the case with young companies, some direction changes during early years were a bit jarring (albeit long term goals have always been the same).
