Not a Day Rate

Pros

-Probably good for servers or people who have other nights jobs to fill in their days if they need some extra days

Cons

-Not a day rate, you are hourly (recruiter I directly asked this question was not honest) -Not reliable in terms of the number of days you can work -Get in with a local district where they pay you the day rates. Scoot is getting paid day rates themselves but trying to nickel and dime workers with hourly

Great goal, bad leadership

Pros

-Benefits are great -Paid holidays -Symposium

Cons

They make everyone rate the company 5 stars upon hiring. So, likely, most of the 5 star ratings you see here aren’t even from the experience with the company. There is a lot of favoritism . Management pretends to care; However, they mostly care about the money and the goals. If they want to get rid of you, they will set you up for failure and make it seem like it’s your fault.

Pros

It's nice to have a job where I can choose to be available or not. If I need to take time to take my cat to the vet or rest, I can just indicate I'm not available. I'm able to work at my other job as a college professor and still do this on the side.

Cons

Some weeks I wake up at 5am every single day and get zero assignments. So, I'm waking up at 5am for no good reason and that makes me salty. Some weeks are extremely busy and I get called every day, others are not busy at all and I get no work. It seems like I've been assigned to one particular recruiter and if she is out sick or not in the office I don't get any work. Testing for Covid every single week is also a pain. I also had a huge struggle with the LACAO in getting my 30-day substitute permit. Scoot Education insisted I send my application through this agency to expedite my application, but that didn't work out. I've been working only at private schools because the person who was supposed to expedite my application did not. I turned in my materials in December. It is now April and the paperwork got turned in about a week ago. Because of this, I have been very limited as I can only work at the one private school they have on their roster. There was no reason that the lady who was supposed to expedite my application didn't do so. She just didn't do it despite me calling and asking her about it every few weeks until she finally submitted it.
