Pros

The physicians are one of a kind--generally nice, down-to-earth, and extremely talented. The expectations are low and so the stress level is much better than many other jobs. There is a huge endowment so it is a secure place to work. There is a strong sense of "my team is my family" in many departments.

Cons

There is no vision, direction, or strategy which is extremely frustrating and makes decisions very difficult. There is a huge division between clinical and administrative functions. Culture is a vacuum... everyone focuses on what the culture USED to be while doing nothing about the current culture and thus it continues to deteriorate. Very hierarchical and white male (huge lack of diversity). Zero accountability (likely because there are no financial pressures and no strategic plan) and so getting anything accomplished is impossible.

Pros

The culture here is amazing! Everyone is so friendly and it feels like one big family.

Cons

I would say the only negative thing is employee salary. I don't believe our salaries are competitive with other nonprofits.
