Pros

Wonderful people at the local park level.

Cons

This was one of the worst corporate climates of any company I have ever worked for. I'm an executive with over 20 years of experience. As a member of the senior leadership team with SeaWorld you are expected to work every single day with no days off. Typical hours on the job were 16+. The park is grossly understaffed at the hourly level and greatly underpaid at the salaried management level. There is no appreciation for the tireless efforts made by any team and the corporate team expects more and more with less and less. I would run the other direction if presented with an opportunity to work with this company. The reputation of SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment is so bad the board of directors recently renamed the parent company from SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment to United Parks & Resorts in an effort to throw off bad press and a repulsive company culture/reputation. This company does not care about the people who work there or the guests that keep these parks relevant.

Pros

• the people are nice. • if you like your salary staying the same year after year with no advancement opportunities, this is a perfect fit for you

Cons

Where to start? I was with Seaworld for 2 years as a Financial Analyst. In those two years, I’ve seen 2 FULL staff changes on our team. 2 new CFOs came and left, 2 VPs left, our director left and by the end of my tenure I was the longest staying member on the team at 2 years. Seaworld does not give raises of any kind whatsoever no matter how long you stay with the company or how high inflation gets. There are no merit raises or annual salary increases at all. This is always promised as a change by upper management but has never been acted upon Furthermore, when I was hired we were promised a 10% bonus. On the day the bonus was set to be distributed , we were told the company did not meet its goals and thus the bonus would be 0.01% of our salary. This company is a sinking ship and no one seems to care. The turnover is insane. Our team had two full staff get hired and quit in just two years. There is no room for growth or advancement whatsoever. The company has an attitude of “no raises, just hire someone else next year as long as the job gets done” The benefits package is also the worst package I have ever had at any company I have worked for. This year, the prior year base plan became the highest tier plan which means that everyone had to pay more year over year for less benefits. The other positive reviews here are most definitely written by the HR team and are complete lies. Talk to ANY employee at the seaworld corporate building and they will reiterate everything I just said. RUN AWAY from this scam company. I truly feel sorry for the new hires as they have no idea what they just signed up for.

Pros

Outdoors, animals are great, fun to make a difference in guest lives.

Cons

Absolutely no/ none/ never was/ not even a consideration of a work life balance. Do not work here if you don’t like being dramatically under paid.. (really flipping burgers makes more), under appreciated, or all of you time sucked up. In particular in Zoological, yeah it’s a joke. In San Antonio you get no lunch breaks or time to even get a drink. The “uppers” /manager team is so busy micro managing (“leadership”team reading this, yes you). There is no trust or faith in the people who have dedicated their entire careers to these animals.
