Pros

Being able to work from home. Low barrier to entry. Some Good middle management/directors that help with career growth. Lists provided to SDR team so no need to prospect/find leads on own.

Cons

High pressure sales tactics. Essentially pressured to work 14-16 hour days on EOM/EOQ week. Upper leadership promises “equity for all employees” which became a lie and the company ended up deleting quite a few social posts after backlash. SDR team is encouraged to book ANYONE to the AE team calendar which results in hundreds of unqualified leads per year wasting time. AEs are encouraged to sell to ANYONE which results in high pressure tactics even when prospects cannot benefit. Leadership also promotes “hiring” across LinkedIn the same day they lay off 10-20% of the company that is hidden behind unrealistic quotas being the reason for fired employees. Also if you leave inside two years (even during a company layoff) they will force you to pay back what you were reimbursed for equipment. Spread way too thin on the sales side and show an insane amount of favoritism when distributing leads. CEO has also promoted his own sales leadership “conferences” to prospects and included the option to buy tickets for that on contracts that are sent out.

Pros

It's good if you don't know any better

Cons

Work life balance is awful, the management (up to the CEO excluding a few great people) are absolutely impossible to work with. The best way to put it is everyone only has their interest in mind. Everything is a competition, which is really good... when done properly. Seamless doesn't. Seamless doesn't know how to do anything properly when it comes to internal matters. They treat you like disposable trash, not as a person, and DO throw you out as long as they can make you a fall guy. I got out voluntarily, and couldn't have gotten out faster. Just don't choose them if you're reading this

Pros

This job is easy to get, and if you are someone who hasn’t sold a day in your life who is looking to add it to your resume. This will do the trick. But the resume addition is just about the only positive thing you’ll be getting out of this role. *Pseudo Pro* If you are living at home, and fresh out of college the base pay will seem pretty good. Also, commissions are relatively lucrative if you hit the meetings held numbers. However there are a few MASSIVE cons to compensation that you will find below.

Cons

They are actively looking to put bodies in (virtual) chairs all of the time, they will literally hire anyone who can read a script. So you and everyone else are extremely replaceable, and turnover is higher than I have ever seen. That includes the restaurant jobs I had in college. This is a work from home boiler room, and this role is far more similar to telemarketing than it is Sales Development. In regards to compensation, the SDRs are incentivized to book as many meetings as possible. But not incentivized to qualify, so AEs are almost always bummed at you. It’s no one’s fault except leadership’s because it’s just a broken system. Ultimately the SDR team is a marketing tool to reflect the effectiveness of the product itself. Which is honestly a decent product. The sad part is, because of the broken system AEs seem like they sell to those who don’t need it and make false promises because they need to eat too! But this leads to a ton of account churn and the contract is “monthly” but you are locked in. This is standard practice with most SaaS products, but the AES are constantly taking meetings so they miss a ton of steps in the sales process.
