Securly lives up to the hype

Pros

Securly has truly changed my life. I was a former educator and started here in an entry level BDR role. Over the past two years, I’ve had the opportunity to grow into an Account Executive position, which opened the door to an entirely new career in sales. If you’re hungry to grow and willing to step into a new field, Securly will invest in you and support your development. It’s a remote role with some travel, which I personally enjoy, and the environment is incredibly supportive. The company genuinely understands work life balance. Many team members have families, and there’s flexibility and trust built into the culture. As long as you do your job and do it well, they empower you and work with you to succeed.

Cons

There is definitely a learning curve when it comes to the technical knowledge, but that’s true of any role in the tech industry. The team does a great job supporting you as you learn, and over time it becomes much more comfortable and manageable. Like many companies in this space and at this stage of growth, there have been layoffs during my time here, each year actually. That said, this is something we’re seeing across the broader tech industry.

Pros

* Excellent work-from-home policy that promotes a strong work-life balance and trusts employees to manage their own schedules. * Inclusive decision-making process where feedback is encouraged and leadership actually listens to input from all levels. * Collaborative environment filled with talented, supportive, and driven individuals who make the day-to-day work enjoyable. *Rich exposure to international teams and diverse cultures, which has been a great learning experience for global collaboration.

Cons

* Typical 'scaling' hurdles as the company moves toward more formal enterprise structures. * Strict production guardrails are in place, which ensures security but adds layers of administrative overhead. * Opportunities exist to better align team cultures during this period of high growth.

Pros

Excellent work-life balance and true remote flexibility make it easy to stay productive without burnout. Leadership is transparent and communicates clearly about expectations and direction. The team culture is supportive, and coworkers are always willing to help troubleshoot and share knowledge. The support role provides valuable hands-on exposure to real-world web filtering, DNS, SSL inspection, network behavior, and security policy enforcement, which directly builds foundational skills relevant to cybersecurity. This is a great environment for anyone looking to gain practical experience and develop technical troubleshooting abilities that transfer into broader security roles.

Cons

Compensation could be more competitive compared to similar technical support roles in the industry, but it is still fair overall. While the experience gained is valuable, salary growth may be gradual depending on role progression and tenure.
