Pros

You help families and clients by providing a service that they need. Clients appreciate and express happiness with the service they receive.

Cons

Allows clients to discriminate against caregivers by allowing clients to request a certain "type" of person. Management demands a lot from staff, but does not appreciate the staff work load. Inexperienced management runs company poorly. Poor communication from manager to staff. Accepts any work and does not think about consequences it will have on the workers. Requires you to be on call several days a month. makes for poor work life balance.

Pros

Working with senior citizens was extremely fulfilling. Being able to empower, comfort, support, and go the extra mile for older individuals was rewarding in a multitude of ways.

Cons

I have never worked for a more disorganized company. I was not paid the wage that they promised to pay me upon being hired, I drove 40 miles every day for six months even though I was hired to work within a 10-mile drive; I was often double-booked or scheduled to work shifts I had no idea about, my direct supervisor was never in the building and was not aware of the clients' or employees' needs, but still managed to micromanage every superfluous aspect of the job; my "team" consisted of me and one other person, days that I had requested and was promised off months in advance (e.g. Christmas) I was forced to work a week beforehand. Clients who were being neglected by family members were not attended to by supervisors, the company, or anyone else to whom I and multiple caregivers brought their concerns; there was virtually no training involved and no ongoing training opportunities. Caregivers are not communicated with regarding their function or responsibilities, regarding the specific needs of individual clients, changes in scheduling or care, etcetera. Office staff do not respond to calls, emails, or any other form of communication promptly or at all and have repeatedly been deceitful about their attempts to communicate with caregivers. When quitting, I was approached by two supervisors, the director, and person in charge of staffing via email, phone, and in person to convince me to stay and was offered a whole dollar an hour more (still not totaling the amount agreed upon at hiring) per hour. I would not recommend working with a company that has so little regard for both its employees and its clients. It's remarkable to me that such a company is still in business.

Pros

-friendly staff -good amount of shifts

Cons

- Was hired under the impression that I would only work in closeby areas; Kept being asked to work 30+ miles away; laid off due to inability to commute that far for shifts and could not pick up any shifts
