SCEMS takes its employees lightly

Pros

The company gives you excellent initial exposure to the preclinical emergency field. You will also meet some of the coolest coworkers while riding on the ambulance.

Cons

Over time you will realize that your skills as an EMT are going to waste doing transports with intermittent emergencies. You will never ever get off on time. When I first started working for the company, I presumed this was simply a negative outlook by most employees; after having worked with the company for almost 9 months, I have come to the painful conclusion of just how accurate that statement is.

The Best Private Ambulance Company in the City

Pros

You get a paycheck every week. Scheduling is flexible. OT comes and goes.

Cons

Ambulance maintenance poor at best. I've gotten ambulances where only one door will open with the key. Upper management have done nothing to improve the relationship of road crews and dispatchers. They need to update the "10-2" rule. Nobody wins with this outdated rule.
