Great way to get hands on experience in the medical field. Get to work with awesome partners, and handful of cool supervisors. Provides valuable experience for those who need hours to apply to paramedic or PA/Nursing programs. Diverse range of experiences, allowing EMT's to develop patient assessment skills.

Cons

EMT-B employees get horrendous salary. Unless you're a paramedic or a supervisor, majority of employees cannot earn livable wage without working lots of OT. Some supervisors just like to flex their authoritative muscle, more than address actual issues. Place is a revolving door for a lot of employees.

Patient care is secondary Equipment is not up to date Besides fellow EMTs, everyone else is covering themselves Promotion is not even an option Dispatch only concern is getting calls done with no regards to off time, lunch, etc
