Pros

A great place to work and grow as a young professional. Leadership encourages employees to take ownership of their role and hard work is openly praised and rewarded through formal recognition programs. Team-oriented and supportive culture. All birthdays are celebrated with pie; colleagues share shout-outs at biweekly "townhalls"; standing ovations are granted for overdue haircuts etc. Executive team is open, candid and above all approachable; the CTO sits with his team - this is a very hands on C-suite. VERY generous health benefits, vacation time, and education reimbursement. Location/office is amazing.

Cons

Working with big global banks can sometimes mean we have to operate like an enterprise. I hope we can preserve as much of the start up mentality as we can, while maintaining bank-standards.

Solving real problems with a strong team.

Pros

- The days definitely do not drag. Every day is busy and it keeps me motivated. - The leadership team is very strong. They have a clear vision and it's communicated well. They're also all very approachable. We're not working for them; we're working with them. It's a good feeling. - The problem being solved is real, and at Sensibill what you do in your role has an impact on the work. You can feel it make a difference and that also feels great.

Cons

- Too many snacks, I'm getting fat. - Sometimes the fact that it's busy here can get overwhelming and I have to put in extra hours to get things done. I understand that it's where we are right now and the rewards make up for this.

Pros

Nice, friendly working environment Helpful co-workers Coordinating team and joyful atmosphere Flexible working hours

Cons

General distrust to the engineering team A start-up pretending to be working as an enterprise Dramas in the higher management level that badly impacts the execution Ideas and criticisms are constructive but the delivery is destructive to the morale, especially when messages are delivered to the lower level employees

Sensibill Response

We’re happy to hear that your experience and interactions with our Sensibillians has been so positive! We take pride in how welcoming and inclusive our team is. For this reason (and many others), we are extremely proud of every single team, and trust them completely. We firmly believe no one team is better than another, and are continuously in awe of how bright, dedicated, and collaborative our tech team is. Evidently, we haven’t demonstrated that well enough, and feedback and recognition is something we’re endeavouring to improve upon as a leadership team. As for the dramas of upper management––appearances aren’t always what they seem! We’re the first to admit that we don’t shy away from challenging each other, or defending ideas we’re passionate about. This can appear combative or unhealthy, but we strongly believe that this is what makes us a stronger unit. Healthy dissent is the lifeblood of our company, and one of the cultural pillars that we expect from each other and all of our employees. We want people who work at Sensibill to be passionate and confident enough to challenge ideas, but respectful enough to be constructive in their delivery. Communication has not been our strength, we know that. The delivery of some of our messages fell flat, and not at all how we intended. We’ve done a lot to examine our communication methods, approach, and style. We’ve recently established a new communication matrix to clarify how and when certain messages will be delivered. We’re working on communication training, too, because we realize that it’s a hard skill that needs to be taught. Thanks for your feedback, we appreciate your candour.
