Pros
Worked for a fantastic manager, second to none. Unfortunately, not everyone had this luxury. He has been there 10+ years and continues to thrive there. Great benefits, average pay in market.
Cons
I have seen a lack in investment in employees. Training is inadequate and more and more employees are leaving or are let go for little to no reason. Performance plans are good to have in place, BUT I believe the employer should work to keep the employee there as much as the employee is working to keep their job. There is a HUGE gap between upper management and lower level employees. Lower level employees are YOUR FUTURE. This is the future of the company and this is where you should be providing more opportunities, constant training, and constant communication in regards to employee satisfaction. This is a company's treasure. Though I had a good experience, many of my colleagues have not. I saw more turnover than any other company that I've worked for in the 2 years I worked for Sentinel. Instead of letting someone go to solve a temporary problem, invest and train the employee. Build them up. I have never been in such an environment that most colleagues of mine were concerned if they were going to keep their job. It's disheartening to see so many quality employees be let go in such a short amount of time. I believe there is a great future for Sentinel Technologies but it starts with upper management paying attention to lower level employees and building them up in every way you can. Focus on it, be out it, breath it day in and day out. Send out an anonymous survey to your employee through a third party that doesn't reflect an award. See what you employees really think. This might help. Have more one on one time with your employees to try and bridge a huge gap. Talk about difficulties and career paths more than once a year during yearly reviews. Provide yearly salary increases. Hire a dedicated person that you will ALLOW to be in charge of employee satisfaction and happiness.
