      Pros

      Much of Serco (outside of corporate support) is contract based. The contract I support is full of talented and motivated people, which makes it very enjoyable.

      Cons

      Outside of the contract, support is sometimes tough to find at the corporate level. It is the nature of the business (contract work, where you are seperated from other groups/ divisions because you suport other customers), but they could do a better job with connectivity and support.

      Pros

      Pay is average; benefits are modest: good coffee mug. Travel reimbursement is quick.

      Cons

      Lousy people management - the absence of management training and skills is obvious; although new labor rates were approved no raises have been given in two years: little overhead as Serco contractors work at clients' site using clients resources; merit increases do not reflect actual recognition and performance of employee; no interest on management side to recommend/approve training classes; managers lie about personnel requests and issues such as clients' praises for employee service and performance.
