Was once a great company...

Pros

SevOne is poised to dominate in the network performance management space. The team was like one huge family across the world. Great work environment, great people who appreciated what you did, good mid-level managers who cared about you as a person, wonderful product owners, and an awesome new facility in the heart of Newark, DE. There were many perks as well, such as free lunches every other day, good work/life balance, fair pay rates, and a fun atmosphere!

Cons

One huge misstep was the Bain investment and the desire to grow way too fast. In doing so, SevOne became uber-corporate, and while the "culture of awesome" remained among the mid-level managers and individual contributors who were making the company's gears actually turn, the senior execs tucked themselves away in their new Boston HQ and fell victim to the temptation of the almighty dollar and corporate America. SevOne didn't make its revenue numbers for 2015, and so Bain's punishment was a reduction in workforce that had no basis in an individual's performance, dedication, or contribution. They tore apart family and friends without warning, and the layoff process consisted of a meeting with HR followed by being escorted out the same day as if you didn't matter at all.

Thank you for your review. We assure you that we will keep our startup culture as we grow. "Culture of Awesome" is one of our defining attributes. As the company expands and opens new offices around the globe, there are bound to be inevitable growing pains. We will do our best to streamline our internal communication across teams and offices to make sure the "culture of awesome" is promoted at all levels. We wish you all the best. Stay awesome!

Pros

It's fast, intense, and rewarding work

Cons

I wish there was room for career advancement. There isn't. Is seems like every time we need someone in a leadership position we hire from the outside. There used to be a culture of awesomeness. Now there's a culture of fear. People are afraid to speak their minds about the horrible stuff that's happening short of a guarantee of anonymity. We were top-heavy before the two rounds of mass layoffs. Now we're extremely top-heavy and no in a position to do anything about it cares. They're all stuck in their ivory tower in Boston, and don't have a clue what happens in the heart of the company in Newark. They visit every once in a while, but it reminds me more the president just going by in a bullet proof car -- people can view them go by, but they're still in a protective little bubble isolated from the rest of the world -- and the town hall meetings, ha - that's a laugh. Management keeps talking about money, money, money -- how about we have to be "cash flow neutral." Between the multiple rounds of mass layoffs, the talk about how we "don't have money" for things, you start seeing people leave more, the more people leave the faster other people start leaving. I've been told that I'm "stupid" for staying at SevOne, but I'm here until the ride has come to a complete stop -- whatever that means.

Pros

I used to think that this is great company to work for but it turn out it is the worst company that i ever work for. No pros.

Cons

Where to start.. Product is old and full of bugs, all new releases have proven to be major failures. No communications, lack of leadership, low pay grade. They will trick you with free lunches twice a week but its just a distraction.
