Pros

There are still some smart people around. It's a miracle we haven't lost a client (yet).

Cons

Let's first start with the facts: - Two mass layoffs in less than 7 months - Two VPs of Technology left the company in less than 8 months - SevOne's rating here dropped from 4.5 to 2.8 in less than a year - Founders left the company - HR department left the company/was fired - Part of development is being outsourced to India I'm not sharing any confidential information - you can check all the facts by simply using Google. Now, let's discuss the company in more detail. Overall, the biggest problems are the total lack of leadership, vision and skills. - Bottlenecks - you can find them everywhere - from middle to senior level management. - Incompetence - a lot people don't even understand the product. Sadly, they are responsible for managing it. - Politics - most of the managers only talk but when it comes down to actions, they disappear. They cannot even answer simple questions and continue to play the Buzzword Bingo until you get tired of listening to generic answers. - Blame - you will be monitored, evaluated and blamed for problems, although sometimes you have nothing to do with them. - Low moral - a lot of people already left or are looking for new job. - Disconnection - there is a huge gap across all levels in the company - No process - there are exactly 0 procedures, it's a total chaos everywhere. Agility is a word that you constantly hear but it has no meaning at SevOne. Most of the projects are completed by hero developers who know the product well enough. But guess what - soon they will leave too.

Pros

- Decent product - Great logo's - Awesome Engineering / Dev teams

Cons

This company has lost its magic. They doubled in size from late-2014 to early-2015 and everybody was energized and ready to "ride the rocket". Last year I would have recommended this Company to anyone - it appears it was a blessing that I was laid off now. I expect we'll see more layoffs as time goes on. What happened to Culture of AWESOME? Oh yeah Bain came and aborted it.

Pros

The people were great, upper level management was arrogant and incompetent. Some nice fluff benefits but the benefits you'd care about were lackluster at best.  The culture originally in place was great and full of camaraderie but the two sets of layoffs have dealt a serious blow to anything resembling a culture of "awesome." Work life balance was very fair and unlimited PTO is a cool concept but it also means they do not have to pay out unused vacation time.

Cons

First off management is incompetent and totally political. Those that were part of the boys club (from a sales perspective) got the best opportunities and chances to succeed. One long standing employee noted that the same sales people were receiving the same sales awards over the past 5 years. I noticed the same thing in my 2 year tenure.  The lack of transparency and direction from management is laughable and a sad excuse for leadership. Don't expect to have any idea what management is doing and do not trust a word they say. The CEO once misled the entire company by saying SevOne was going to build a tower behind the new Delaware location to accommodate for growth, then the first round of layoffs occurred just a few months later.  Another high-level sales executive boasted that the investors felt SevOne was a potential "Google", only for the company to justify firing people on the basis that the investors did not believe the market opportunity was there just a few months later after that in the second round!
