Shady practices and favoritism with HR and management to remove people they do not like or promote people they do, Hours will never be what you expect or want if you are full time, management positions overlap - as a supervisor you will end up doing most management duties without the pay or benefits of being an assistant, turnover rate is terrible, ALWAYS short staffed and expected to pick up the slack. Most stores have ill equipped or overall inadequate upper management.
Personally, I've been with the company a couple years- always praised on work ethic and ability- but am always stuck doing the hours and positions the store needs- not what I want or have earned. If you are good at your job or care about it at all- you will be inadvertently punished because the work and expectations will fall on your shoulders- and you will get absolutely nothing for it unless it benefits the store/company. Corporate created amazing training program but stores are too short staffed and not given appropriate hours/mgmt does not stick to the plan in order to ensure training properly. Tons of advancement opportunities but no development if it doesn't suit them. I am looking for another job because I've waited nearly the entire length of my employment to be developed into and the chance to be assistant management or even just a first shift supervisor. I've gotten neither- despite positive performance reviews.
