Pros

Shields is a good place to start if you want experience outside of retail or inpatient settings. Specialty pharmacy has had a huge wave of need in the past couple of years and Shields is doing good job accommodating that need with stretch across the nation. A good fit if you desire to start and move up and potentially relocate to a client hospital's city. All great points if you're needing the experience.

Pros

Shields is experiencing explosive growth, which means that Shields Health Solutions employees' are literally shaping the company, the culture, everything. An exciting, never-the-same-day-twice atmosphere, this is one of the best professional experiences of my career. The more SHS grows, the more the leadership team sees the need for high talent/potential employees, the need for more resources in key areas, the need to maintain the Shields family culture, and the need to ensure all employees are happy and consider themselves satisfied going to work each and every day.

Cons

Growth like this is not for everyone; this company is definitely for those who enjoy a challenge.

Pros

I have been with Shields for 4 years. They have consistently put their money where their mouth is when it comes to the motto of legendary care. The cultural norms that have been built within the company, make it a wonderful place to provide excellent care to patients, all the while allowing you the freedom to voice concerns and work together to create better processes and troubleshoot ideas to increase the level of services.

Cons

The biggest cons come from partner relationships. I feel as though sometimes we over-promise or aren't explicit enough with processes that work well with new or existing partners. We can lose track that we are the expert in a lot of matters and let the hospital make decisions that aren't always best for pharmacy, liaisons or patients. We should stand our ground more in areas that we know will make an impact.
