Pros

If you are friends with the CEO you can pretty much do whatever you like. Compensation is good.

Cons

LOTS of firings, everybody is unhappy. I can't put too many details in the review because upper management is constantly crusading against anything negative and they will fire anyone that happens to say anything bad. It's very clear here that there is only one rule at this company: be friends with upper management. If you aren't, you are constantly under fire, regardless of your actual performance.

Pros

- Somewhat relaxed atmosphere and culture although the micro-managing is starting to happen - When in the office free food catered and snacks stocked - Unlimited Vacation and good work/life balance

Cons

- Too "cliquey" and no room for promotion unless you are buddies with management. - Promotions happen internally and happen very secretive with no apparent reason - Little to no training (employee's doing training aren't specifically trained in what they are doing) - Tools being implemented for more micromanagement

An OK place to work

Pros

The people, the culture, the flexibility (work from home), unlimited time off.

Cons

Management - Like most companies, SS promotes based on how much a** you kiss. This leads to a large amount of people in leadership roles that have no idea how to actually lead a team. Internal platform structure - Overall, ShipStation is a great solution for small businesses. Larger businesses struggle with the constant slowness and buginess. When it comes to rolling out changes or fixing bugs, forget it. Working on a "new" version for over 2yrs is a joke. The new version added two new features (not features that have been highly requested for years by customers) and a UI overhaul. Bugs will sit in queues waiting to be worked for months. Pay - Laughable. Extremely under market.
