Pros

Employees are generally well educated and experts in their field.

Cons

The company is in a tailspin. They blame supply chain but it is really a result of the leadership in the diagnostics division. She is divisive and demeaning, and the turnover reflects her behavior. The environment is oppressive and stifling. For a company that touts "saving lives" they could not be more damaging to the people who work there. The Imaging team operates as a completely different division and are much more civil. They talk about new ambitions and values, but it is all talk. It remains dominated by males and is extremely hierarchical. If you are a professional who is used to being treated as such you will struggle. You will not be valued or recognized. The turnover is unbelievable and at some point will catch up to them. For now, there is an arrogance and belief that there is power in the Siemens name that has long passed. Fear, exclusion, condescension, no job security, insatiable stakeholders, unrealistic expectations and a lack of direction rule the day. They solicit feedback regularly through Peakon and do nothing with it. I cannot caution a prospective employee enough. There are many companies hiring right now so do yourself a favor and do not choose this one. You will regret it.

Pros

Used to be a good place to work until the current President of healthcare in North America destroyed morale

Cons

Siemens balances their budget on the backs of their field service engineers, I am making the same now as I was 4 years ago due to them cutting bonuses, eliminating double time on Sundays, and not paying OT. So they can give more money to their shareholders they started forcing us to shift our schedules from 1st shift to split 2nd or even 3rd shifts to avoid paying us OT even though we are hired as 1st shift. Bonuses have been cut in half the last 3 years for bogus reasons and the engineer in the field has no life, always working in the evenings and missing dinners and weekends with the family. I didn’t sign on for this and they are making a ton of money off these new extended hours contracts for the customers but only willing to pay us a measly 7-12% shift difference for not seeing our families. Their business model since the company split healthcare off into its own business is to create change for the sake of change. We received weekly emails about new people hired into upper management with job descriptions that left us wondering what they were actually doing, made up job titles with no real purpose. Yet in the field managers are not allowed to create new positions even though the installed base grows yearly, as a result customers are frustrated when we don’t show up in a timely manner due to not having enough bodies in the field. That is all you are to Siemens, a warm body expected to do more work but with less support. The service laptop, called the EVO, is unreliable and too small, it is actually a tablet with a flimsy detachable vinyl keyboard. All these new managers hired create bogus training for us to take to justify to their V.P.’s they are doing something, but we are the ones who must waste valuable time doing this training. They even had a training last year about how to properly sleep and take a nap, even telling us what the proper amount of time is for a restful nap, seriously you can’t make this stuff up. Siemens switched over their shipping logistics to a new company in 2021 and it is a nightmare, parts don’t ship, customers are furious, we are the ones left holding the bag and have to deal with the irate customers that their equipment is down and we have no parts to install. What was once a great company to call home is now just a corporate behemoth unresponsive to their customers or employees needs. So sad and shame on you to the President of healthcare North Americas, you have destroyed a once great organizations. Siemens just terminated every one who wouldn’t get the poke in the arm, employees who have dedicated 20+ years to this company have been fired over a shot that doesn’t even prevent the disease. What a loyal bunch, NOT!

Pros

The initial offer provided a decent package

Cons

I accepted the offer from Humanics (Siemens Healthineers Mountain View) and started onboarding process for half a month. The offer got revoked all of a sudden, after the hiring manager knew the working visa process might take longer than he/HR expected, without any detailed explanation. I am writing to complain about the low-efficient, disrespectful and unsupportive HR system and dishonest&careless company culture. 1. I received only one email reply from "my HR" to my 10+ emails/voicemails regarding of important visa status & onboarding process update, after accepting the offer for half a month. The FIRST and LAST call I received from "my HR", was to directly revoke my offer. And the HR was even late for this one! 2. There was no collaboration from Siemens Healthineers HR or Immigration Department on finding visa solutions & on-boarding process. I am fully aware that current working visa process takes longer than usual, due to Trump's policy. In order to onboard as early as I can, I left 10+ voicemails and emailed "my HR" and Siemens immigration department to explore solutions. I received no reply. I finally got in touch with the lawyer after 2 weeks. At the end, the HR blame this communication delay to Hurricane Irma:). My offer was revoked after lawyer gathering data from me. 3. My offer was withdrawn in the extremely rude way. HR disqualified me with the hilarious excuse and failed to provide any reasonable explanation. HR hang up my phone after informing me "You offer was gone" and yelling repeatedly "I have to go" to avoid providing the real reason. I understand California employment is at will. I was shocked by how a company like Siemens broke their promise so easily and left their potential candidate hanging nowhere. The HR ignored all the emails/calls from the candidate and functioned as a barrier during on-board. I take this experience as how the company treats immigrating Workers. They tear up the offer they made as a poster on the street. To Siemens Humanic team: Unless you build an all-American team, you can not avoid dealing with visa. When breaking your promise, have you thought of how many other opportunities I had to let go after signing the offer? Do you care that I might have to go back to my home country and replan my life, when suddenly loosing this job offer?
