I must be frank when describing my experience with working with Signet Maritime. If you can, unless there are no other options, stay away from this drain. If you must accept employment with this company, please prepare yourself and anyone involved in your life to become acquainted with some degree of unhappiness. The owners of the company, a husband and wife team, are VERY passionate people. Passionate about owning their employees, critizing employees in very juvenile ways (weight, clothing), and maintaining a false image. There is no substance here, no good core. My advice is to better yourself by choosing to gain experience at a legitimate company. There are career and advancement opportunities- unfortunately, most advancement is due to the high employee turnaround rate. Work/Life Balance- Do not expect this to be a concept.

President is very conservative. Women must be thin and pretty to work there, he will shame anyone for being overweight. If you make it even 6 months and have any skills more work will be put on you than you can handle, but you will be expected to do everything correctly and efficiently. Office employees often have to work overtime to get everything done with little appreciation for hard work. Even the "favorites" get harassed and yelled at by the President. HR NIGHTMARE!!
