Even senior managers are treated as untrustworthy. Management wants to know your personal details and will treat you differently if they find out something they don't agree with. Managers are given long titles with no real responsibility and blamed when CEOs choices blow up. CEOs wife is not an employee, but wields authority on everything including hiring choices, décor and your personal appearance. CEO is the grammar police and will embarrass anyone with a company wide reply all. This makes communicating via email difficult out of fear that you may get attacked.
