Pros

Some coworkers are super great but all of them are job hunting. The leadership at SkySlope have taken SkySlope too close to the edge too many times which has pushed out the great employees and filled seats with mediocre bodies who have difficulty accomplishing basic tasks. Because of this it's very easy to be a complete rockstar here but prepare to pick up the slack of everyone else if you want this title.

Cons

There are many cons to this company but the final nail in the coffin for me leaving was leadership and HR poorly handling a discrimination situation. When presented with hard evidence of an employee engaging in sex based discrimination against me and other colleagues, the employee had no repercussions because this employee has worked in the company for years. The day after I left they posted on social media the company was sponsoring employees to march in the 2019 pride parade so they could appear inclusive. This is a FACADE. Leadership doesn't care about any employees except their personal friends who work in the company.

Pros

They provided lunch once a week, the location was in downtown Sacramento, and dogs were allowed.

Cons

* Significantly below market compensation * Career Advancement is only available if you stroke your manager's and CEO's ego * Company resources and marketing is around selling the CEO; not the services * Most of the benefits offered were either nerfed or outright eliminated before they became available to the employees * More than 40 men to a single toilet * Inadequate development hardware * Culture which encourages intra-office theft of hardware and working materials * Refuses to migrate to modern architectures and engineering practices * They don't innovate: they steal ideas from other companies. They've been sued for this multiple times. * Inside the company customers were viewed as a joke to be mocked and ridiculed. This was from the lowest support person through the CEO.

Thank you for your candid feedback and I am sorry you didn't have the best experience here. I want to be able to address all your points as many things have evolved since. Market compensation: we recently implemented a pay philosophy that ensures everyone is paid fairly and at market compensation (based on market data from a third party) and now you can have this discussion with your manager on a semi-annual basis. Career advancement is left to the employee to determine their trajectory and we do everything we can to get them there. For Marketing, the other services through the CEO are there to work in tandem with our transaction management platform and ultimately propel our growth as a whole. As for benefits we have a best in class package, so this review may have been before, now we offer medical, dental, $100 wellness reimbursement, 401(k) matching up to 4%, 3 weeks PTO, 15 paid holidays, birthday off (plus $100), lunches 3 days a week, free books and more. As for the toilet, I can agree with you, but since then we have relocated offices and can say we have multiple stalls now, which is definitely a relief to many including myself :) As for hardware, every developer is provided with state of the art machines that are customized and adequate for all needs. Engineering practices are also very innovative as we are in the cloud and always looking for the best technologies to implement. As for our customers, I can say that we are obsessed with them and it shows through our recent best customer service award through nicereply, it is also one of our values. But at the end of the day you are entitled to your opinon and I am taking this feedback to all parties mentioned to ensure we take something from it and look at improving any areas we can.

Thank you for providing this feedback. In regards to the salary, we have recently implemented a pay philosophy surrounded on alignment, confidence, and transparency. We have established pay rate ranges for all positions that have been verified through companies like payscale to ensure we are paying competitively. As for staffing, we definitely had a need to improve that, so we recently hired 6 additional reps.
