-Stylists are paid hourly or commission so paycheck is guaranteed - 401k -Medical and dental insurance -prizes

Cons

-commission scale has changed from 40%-50% service commission to 38%-48% service commission and retail has gone from 10% to 5% retail commission. The difference is bigger than it seems. - Pay for meetings is not always paid out and you have to watch your paychecks carefully to insure that you are being paid correctly. -Salon managers are not paid salary they are paid commission but are still expected to handle salon issues off the clock. the commission rate is between 48%-50%.

My Salon Mgr. was GREAT, she taught me a lot and was very understanding and caring.

Cons

your job is threatened ALL the time for not reaching commission goals. It was impossible to make your commission at that salon because there were not enough. i was fired for not making commission when the regional manager found out i was pregnant when nobody else in the salon was making their commission either.. including the salon mgr. the area manager and regional manager would not return calls for days sometimes weeks. they dont care if you are short staffed and only one person working in the salon from open to close for months.

Cons

Upper management messes with booking times for services, allowes manager to bully staff, belittle and be rude and ignorant. The RL bullies, belittles, and back stabbs the stylists. More worried about $$$$ than the environment and getting along of staff. Minimum only.... making commission is impossible.
