Pros

Only been with SmartThings for just over a month, but so far, it seems like a pretty solid company. People here seem to know their stuff and are building a really cool platform with some cool tech. Work is coming in fast and furious and day to day actiivty can seem very scattered as you are getting pulled around a lot. For me personally, I like that as I'm constanly learning new stuff and helping out where I'm needed. Great benefits. Unlimited PTO / Sick Time policy. Very flexible WFH policy. Super casual dress code. On-site Happy Hours on Thursday. Side note. Marking Career Opportunities and Senior Management 4 star for now, but I really haven't been around long enough to form solid opinions on those.

Cons

It's been a bit tough to find information at times due to the fact the culture is still very much in a start-up mindset so documentation isn't really a priority. If you don't feel comfortable with walking up to people you don't know and asking questions, you might have a tough time ramping up to speed. This might be a false impression, but so far I feel like the company will reward those who are putting in the massive hours (50+ weeks). If you are one who likes to simply put in your 40 and then enjoy life outside of work, you won't be punished, but you might not get super ahead either.

Pros

- Good work/life balance - Interesting space to be in and people who come from great backgrounds with great experience

Cons

- Too many chefs in the kitchen with C-level execs wanting to be included and have their hands in everything because of this it took a while to really get things done and things changed all the time - For such a small company people did not really communicate very well with each other - Seemed very cliquish; if you didn't make friends with the right people then you were ousted - Had a mixture of very aggressive and passive-aggressive personalities

Pros

It's a nice office centrally located in Palo Alto. Lots of nearby restaurants but expensive. Minneapolis office seems very closely knit.

Cons

CEO and Leadership team seems to have little to no vision nor do they seem to care about people working for them. High stress environment due to poor management, broken product and no roadmap.
