Culture continues to nosedive

Pros

- Decent pay and some benefits (health insurance) but no 401k (for a finance company helping people "get their money right"...how about start with your employees?) - You can achieve what you want and make an impact if you go around and steamroll over other people - Pre-IPO company

Cons

- More and more, it's starting to feel like everyone is in it for themselves. - Culture is taking a stark nosedive. After repeating that the company will have the "best culture in the world" for years, it wasn't even included as an initial priority for next year-instead added in as an afterthought, which further emphasizes the company is all talk and no action. There is way to much going on programming wise that we can't take advantage of because of the workloads, - There has been an over-the-top emphasis on D&I but it's all show and no true authentic progress. Ask the people of color about their experience. - True lack of effective leadership, especially on the HR front. Employees are left in the dark about whether or not we will be allowed to continue working remotely or flexibly after Covid, making it extremely difficult to make any personal plans. Different leaders give different answers, making it very confusibng. No monetary support from the company to set up home offices - company operates out of fear, employees are not trusted or empowered, no curageous conversations in sight

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are dedicated to creating a culture where people love to work, and we're disappointed to hear that has not been your experience so far. I want to assure you that we genuinely care about your feedback and overall experience at SoFi, and continuing to develop programs to support our employees is a top priority for our People Team going into 2021. As you know, diversity in all its forms is one of our core values, and we have ambitious diversity goals, including increasing URG representation from 46.8% to 60% and URG representation in senior management from 37.5% to 45% by 2023. Launching career development initiatives like the Grow Mentorship program and Inclusive Hiring Practices for recruitment will help us meet these ambitious goals. The COVID-19 pandemic has created a lot of uncertainty for all companies, and I want to assure you we are working on a plan so all employees can return to work safely. If you're willing, I'd love to speak with you 1:1 about your concerns. Please feel free to reach out to me directly on your own time if this is something you'd be interested in. If you feel more comfortable relaying your feedback to your manager or a trusted executive, I'd still appreciate learning more. Either way, your thoughtful review will help us improve.

Pros

They say they strive to the best culture in the world, but it's a front. It's deceiving and the leadership team tries to care but all they care is the money. Compensation, benefits, and free food (in the office) was a nice perk.

Cons

1. Little autonomy. Ever since the “partnership” with Indeed, we have lost all autonomy in our book of business. 2. Zero transparency or executive level support. The entire executive team seems to have zero idea what is happening in the go-to-market org 3. Continuous roadblocks to success. You’re not setting your employees go up for success and you’re seeing people leave because they realize the workload is not sustainable. 4. Lack of diversity. 5. Measurement. If you expect your team to perform, give them quotas on time and transparency into how they are built 6. Collaboration. Properly define the roles and responsibilities between marketing/product/engineers and the counterparts. It’s provides chaos internally and a poor client experience externally. There is no best culture in the world when the leadership team doesn't act on it. Even during this pandemic, the members of the people team has yet to care and ask if their employees are burnt out or not.
