Pros

You will get thrown into anything and everything which lends to a lot of learning and growth The business is honed in on growing the business and moving quickly to do it Genuinely nice staff Unlimited vacation and SoFriday's (early leave)

Cons

The business still very much feels like a start up and moves extremely fast which can be overwhelming and taxing on morale. They very much thrive on cloud tools and chat tools for day to day communication which leads to an overload of messaging and difficulty keeping track of things. Many of the teams are understaffed for the large projects they are undertaking. The good news is that they have very competent employees but they are moving so quickly that there just isn't enough of them. If you are young or ambitious this is a great opportunity to get in early, work hard, and grow with evolutionary business. If you don't like high stress and ever changing demands this may not be the place for you.

Pros

SoFi is full of smart, driven people who genuinely care about doing meaningful work and building products that improve members’ financial lives. SoFi is one of those rare companies where the stated values actually show up in how people operate day to day. The SoFi Way and its 11 core values aren’t just wall posters, they’re real principles that shape decisions, priorities, and how teams work together. There’s also a clear sense of mission, and it’s rewarding to work for a company that’s reshaping how consumers interact with money.

Cons

The pace can be demanding, and priorities sometimes shift quickly as the business evolves. This environment suits people who thrive in ambiguity, but can be challenging if you prefer more structure or long planning cycles. Some cross-team processes are still maturing, which can create extra work navigating alignment and dependencies. Work-life balance is manageable, but it takes effort to maintain.

Pros

Ability to influence and drive for change. Fast-paced working environment that has ample opportunities to showcase your individual talents to problem-solve. Innovative ideas/products that focus on UX and new tech, and ambitious goals that seek to help our members manage their finances better. The CEO is very transparent, which is uncommon at the traditional Banks that I've worked for.

Cons

Apparently SoFi is shifting it's hiring strategy to location-based, which is very disheartening to hear. I am currently a remote worker, and fear that my opportunities to advance will be limited due to my distance from any SoFi offices. As a Hiring Manager, this may limit the candidate pools - an area where SoFi has always been able to attract top talent, regardless of location. Workload and capacity is on the higher-side from what I have experienced elsewhere and team structures are lean/thin. Each person plays a crucial role, but creates single points of failures when someone is out for an extended period or leaves their role.
