Pros

The benefits are great, The people are positive you can bring your dog to work company events keep you entertained from the 'mundane' Green Commute Discount* (+bonus)

Cons

Unfortunately I have to be honest, I found that while I was employed there management did more to distract me and very little to help me progress in the company no matter how many times I requested to learn and move to other departments. I found that my manager specifically was never really available or even in the office when issues arose that needed immediate attention. Without saying too much and without coming off bitter, when I started there it was great but that was until I noticed some the inside politics of the company. Management could have honestly done a lot more to help me feel comfortable while I was there and the feedback I received when I went to upper management about my issues was appalling. Its like Melrose Place in that Mutha. Sign up to find out :)

Pros

Dog friendly environment and beer cart. The office is pretty cool too. You can wear jeans, runners, etc. Flex like that.

Cons

Long hours, little pay, little recognition, little advancement, no processes in place. Very disorganized and chaotic. They fly by the seat of their pants. The structure is severely lacking. The management staff is young and without allot of experience. They could use some training on dealing with their reps and providing positive feedback. They really focus on getting out the people who aren't performing as well as they would like. In the last few months, they've downsized quite a bit and made the environment sort of like walking on egg shells. Doesn't make it the most warm or inviting space right now.

Pros

Good place to start after graduation. That's about it.

Cons

Management holds you accountable for things that are out of your control. If you are a spiritual person and need to practice your religion, forget about working here. Co-employees also have weak moral fibre, meaning they will step over you or their customers to get what they want. They also promote inexperienced people to management levels and some of them are racist. They won't say it but actions speak louder than words. When you need time off for a personal emergency and if it lasts too long, you might get fired because to them 'the business comes first'. Also forget about talking to HR about any issues you may have. Whenever I went to them, they would always tell me to speak to my manager. Obviously, your manager is not helping you so that's why you come to HR isn't it? People also tend to form 'cliques' there. If you don't hit plan, you're gone. Many people came to work not knowing if they will be fired today or not. Softchoice also has a tendency to praise people and it just becomes annoying after a while. There is no work/life balance here because people bring their personal lives into the workplace. This is because the culture allows it. It's too open. If you want to move to another department, you need to be 'outstanding' in your current role for managment to even 'consider it'. There's a lot more, but in conclusion this is a place that zeroes in on what's wrong with a employee and if there's some success, they will soon forget it. A very ignorant company that only cares about dollars and cents. High turnover. No respect.
