Pros

It is a family atmosphere!! Each department communicates daily and everyone knows everyone, there is nothing better than working with people you actually care about. Very solid recruiting and account manager team, they all work together and have good relationships. Amazing company that cares about values and standards along with a great work life balance.

Cons

Sometimes feel like teams are being pushed to run too fast. Numbers and dashboards are almost all the focus and that sometimes will take away from giving the best experience for both candidates and clients. There is no real hands on coaching, training or development, you must be willing to figure things out on your own or ask for help. Directors are busy and unable to give individual coaching and training.

Thank you so much for your feedback! We have recently focused on "on the spot coaching" efforts for all of our teams to provide the best support and training . Our on-boarding, training and development of employees is a continued focus and will be a main point of our goals for next year. We are so glad that you saw the culture that STG has, the work life balance and that we really do value and care for our employees. Thank you again for your feedback!

Pros

Software Technology Group (STG) is wholly dedicated to the success of its employees. Work/life balance is a primary concern, which is unusual in the field of consulting. Unlike other consulting firms, STG does not cut employees loose between assignments. After an engagement concludes, your salary and benefits remain at 100%, and you are only expected to learn and make yourself more marketable while the wonderful folks in the sales department line you up with a new opportunity.

Cons

The gray cloud of the consulting career's silver lining is that there is little room for upward mobility. While STG always pays its employees what the market will bear, the assignments and responsibilities of each engagement (ie, the things that populate your resume) are solely controlled by the company to whom you're assigned. This is true of the consulting industry as a whole, though; it is not particular to STG.
