Pros

You can get your foot in the door to the solar industry and put the experience on your resume. You get a lot of exercise being required to be on you feet 8 hours a day and walking around.

Cons

SolarCity is a revolving door. They turn and burn their employees and make empty promises of promotions and high income. Management continually moves the quota up and make you feel like you are not performing well. They motivate with fear.

Pros

Super-smart, talented, execs Elon Musk, Lyndon & Peter Rive, and inner-circle of mgmt. Great company reputation for the past 9yrs. These 3 guys are seriously doing the right thing, but what's that saying? "Road to Hell is paved with good intentions"?

Cons

Seriously questioning Hayes Barnard's ethics. Over the past 2yrs, company has gone from placing high priority on a positive customer experience to a focus on numbers, numbers, numbers. Number of sales over number of satisfied customers. Number of installs over number of QUALITY installs (ie a region can have the highest number of installs, and simultaneously the highest number of "early failure" rates upon inspecting their own installations). Gone from a consultative selling approach, to one that is unmatched in the Used Car industry - say whatever it takes to get a signature. Say whatever it takes to get the customer to sign - even when that customer has flat out said, "I'm already working with another rep" (or direct/door-to-door rep literally telling a homeowner "oh, i can get you a better deal than who you're currently working with - then creating another account for that customer, just so the sales credit goes to the direct rep).
