Pros

The Demand Generation roles tend to have autonomy, with oversight mainly around budget and spend tracking. The tracking & reporting systems and processes were decent and allowed for program performance analysis. The Corp Comm team did a great job building brand awareness, which boosted paid media programs.

Cons

The turn over rate is REALLY HIGH. I had 16 bosses over 14 years. Despite consistently exceeding expectations and delivering positive program ROI year after year - I was only promoted once. SolarWinds is very much a Sales company and Marketing is viewed with some hostility. In addition, the quarterly goals were often relayed half way through the quarter and budgets were frequently revised.

Pros

Team collaboration, work/life balance, overall good support system, great benefits.

Cons

Poor expectations for quota based on book of business. Needs to use better data to make realistic decisions on scaling out a team. VP/Senior leadership seemed clueless to problems going on around the business, diversity, and culture. Relatively low compensation compared to the industry.
