Pros

Good place for people who are self-directed Lots of colleagues who are both smart and bright Plenty of opportunities to learn new things Fair compensation Challenging work Once you've proven yourself, management does listen to employees here Exceptional at explaining the vision and the model so that employees understand what they need to do to support the business Only example I have ever seen of successful offshoring, with great international colleagues

Cons

Not a good fit for people who like a lot of structure or need a lot of guidance on how to do their jobs If you're not working out, they will quickly let you go (BTW to me this is a good thing--this company doesn't carry deadbeats on its back or payroll) Some normal growing pains given its size and industry In US, less than standard holidays and poor PTO policies Draconian legal department interferes with business in ridiculous ways Sometimes penny wise and pound foolish on spending money for business

Pros

I believe the best rewards are the ones you’ve worked hard to earn. That’s SolarWinds in a nutshell. Hard work, but great rewards. - Bright, hard-working co-workers. At many places, I’ve had to work with an underperforming team member. You end up doing much of their work and your own. Under performers are not tolerated here. I personally find that to be a relief, but it does make for a different culture. - Interesting work. It is fun to see your work ship and customers use it. - Good compensation, including 401k matching - Opportunities for career growth. I started as worker bee and I progressed through senior and lead positions. I am now in management.

Cons

- Need to be firm on work/life boundaries - Not having the time to excel on projects

Pros

Friendly and still competitive atmosphere Challenging work on very interesting products Intensive feedback from customers Career opportunities Competitive salary and bonuses

Cons

Communication between different offices gets difficult due to cultural differences and time zone gaps. Some employees need to work late night to support customers from US. Top management decisions are sometimes not very well explained, which creates mixed opinions about them. Investors do not really appreciate the heading of the company which affects the stock price.
